To foster the learning, out of classes, of electronics, programming and robotics at ISEP, the Robotics@ISEP Open has been conducted at ISEP (a short video of a previous edition can be found here: https://youtu.be/Mv-ksndM_yg and the full programme here: https://www.isep.ipp.pt/Page/ViewPage/openrobotica_iv). This event has been taking place yearly during March, and this year’s edition is scheduled to take place during 9 - 14 of March, 2026 (https://www.isep.ipp.pt/Page/ViewPage/openrobotica_v).
This is an event where students organize themselves in teams (they can be from different academic years and different backgrounds) and register to take part in robotics competitions, and teachers and older students give them training, out of regular classes.
This Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) frames the participation of national and international students in the 2026 edition of the Robotics@ISEP Open, allows international students to benefit from an ERASMUS+ scholarship to attend and participate, and gives both national and international participating students an accredited training programme.
Students have online training sessions to introduce them to the fundamentals of industrial robotics / manipulator arms, including simulation and offline programming using simulation software packages, and also online training sessions to introduce them to the basics of mobile robotics, including the design and development of a simple mobile robot for the competitions. After this preparatory phase to be conducted online, there will be a set of face-to-face sessions at ISEP, during the days preceding the 2026 Robotics@ISEP Open.
